Emmetts Methodist Church

Emmetts (Over Wyresdale) Methodist Church is situated in the Forest of Bowland, an area of great scenic beauty, and serves a small but faithful congregation drawn mainly from the local farming community. Although geographically isolated, it continues a strong witness.

Location: on the road from Lancaster to the Trough of Bowland (click for map). From Lancaster, follow signs for Quernmore and the Trough of Bowland. Continue on this road for about 10 km beyond Quernmore, going through a group of houses (Lee) and ignoring the left turn to Tarnbrook. The chapel is on the corner of the next junction where a minor road comes up from Abbeystead.   Services: Sundays, 2.00 pm
