The M6 motorway passes the city - exit at junction 33 (South) or 34 (North)

The railway station is on the West Coast main line, served by London-Scotland, cross-country and local services.

National Express coach services, as well as local buses, use the Lancaster bus station.

The local area

Community action

Part of the Circuit is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, while there is easy access to some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain - the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Pennines.

Lancaster itself has a history going back to pre-Roman times (we still have a Roman bath house, though sadly no longer in use!) as well as excellent modern facilities such as a theatre, 6-screen cinema and a growing range of shops, coffee houses, delicatessens etc.

Like every other area of the country, Lancaster relies on its own people to support the disadvantaged and build a thriving community. Organisations like the local YMCA and Lancaster Homeless Action (01524 842008) provide a focus for this kind of activity. There is also strong interest in environmental issues and we participate in annual Christian Aid collections across the Lancaster district. The churches of our Circuit support these and many other community needs, both formally and informally.
