Who we are

We are a small and friendly congregation where everyone knows everyone else's name! We span the 8 to 80 age range and have room for you too whatever your age!

What we do

We meet for a service once a week on Sundays at 10.15 a.m. The services vary in style and content depending on who the minister is so no two weeks are exactly the same.

After the service like all Methodists we drink tea and coffee, socialise and eat a lot of biscuits. You are welcome for biscuits and tea / coffee at around 11.15 a.m. on a Sunday even if you don't fancy the church service - come to the side entrance!

Galgate and Belarus

We are sponsoring the Naidynova family in Belarus through our weekly collection. Belarus is a former part of the Soviet Union. The International Aid Trust organises support for orphanages, projects and individual families across the world. Click on their logo to find out more.

The Naidyonova Family

The family in Belarus consists of Yulia (a divorcee), her 12 year old son Bogdan and Galina Ivanovna (Yulia's mother).

Bogdan suffers from chronic asthma and eczema and receives a disability allowance from the state. Yulia is studying at college in her second year to become a junior infant teacher.

This family is very needy and the support of the Church must be vital to them. The family's income consists of Bogdan's disability benefits, Yulia's unemployment compensation, and the support of Galgate Church which is a great help to them.

Have you herd? - We sent a cow!

Send a Cow is a Christian charity that enables poor farmers in Africa to become self-reliant by providing them with livestock, training and advice. They work with some of the most vulnerable groups in Africa, including children orphaned by war, families affected by AIDS, and disabled people. Our youngsters collect on behalf of the charity and those of us with a sweet tooth buy a lot of homemade jam to send a cow as often as we can. Care to join us in our jam eating, cow sending mission?

Need to hire a venue?

You can hire our room and adjoining  kitchen with disabled access and toilet facilities for just £14 for a two hour booking! Already the History Society, Ellel WI, The Horticultural Society and the Helen Beare String Quartet are regular bookers!
